This site is dedicated to tracing the descendants of Joseph Crediford and his wife Rachel Buss[e]y of York County, Maine. Nothing is known of Joseph Crediford's origins, other than that he is said to have come to the Carolinas with a brother and then to Maine. The Crediford name is common in Devonshire, England, though, and he probably originated there. He married Rachel Buss[e]y, the daughter of Simon Buss[e]y and Margaret Wormwood, about 1691 and had 10 children, most of whom married and raised families in York County.
